I am forced to take my family for vacation. I don't think I will have alot of time to fish. But I can probably sneak out early in the morning or late at night to put some time for bass fishing.
Any good lake I can go in NY state where I can entertain family during the day but I can fish for bass early in the morning or late at night? Preferably a location where I can fish from the shore for an hour or two?
Thank you.

Second on Lake George. Plenty to do in the Village. Shopping, Fort William Henry, an amusement park nearby for the family. Literally miles of shoreline and plenty of docks to fish from.

I third the Lake George recommendation with reservations. What does your family like to do that will LEND itself to your fishing?
For my money, it's Long Lake hands down. :D

We do family vacation in Bolton Landing on Lake George every year, the kids love it and its where my oldest (Bubba) really started his love of fishing...lots to be caught right by the numerous docks, there's public beaches/parks, and a lot of the places have rowboats/canoes/kayaks that you can use ....if you need any info, shoot me a PM, been going there for forever and can maybe point you in the right directions for your fam...

Whispering Woods campground is an awesome time up there on Long Lake. Used to camp there with the fam many moons ago. Good fishing, too.

Where are you going in NY? Or are you looking for potential places to go?

.
Just be sure to remember to pack your dot gloves.
You can't go fishing without them.

I'd have to go with lake george as well. Although I'm an obvious fan of oneida lake( more species and better shore access) aside from sylvan beach, syracuse and a few historical sites, lake george is a nicer family vacation spot.
