First Pike!

Went out to the passaic at around 6. My buddy popped a squat with hot dogs and caught a couple small cats. I walked up and down throwing every spinner and spinnerbait I had, nothing. Sat down, hooked up a hot dog and 20 min later this guy showed up. Great fight and I am PUMPED.... Finally a pike!

PS I've tried rotating the picture for some reason my iPad keeps it at that angle

Congrats on the cherry poppin!! Thats crazy u got him on the dogz, last week I was waitin on a cat or carp with a cocktail shrimp n scooped an 8lb pike after 5min. They're out there, just know ur tackle & be confident in your lures. Sweet fish dude!! Keep em comin!!:D

There ya go dude! Congrats on the HOT DOG PIKE! They love lures this time of year and of course you can't go wrong with live bait, or processed meat. Lol, a fine catch indeed!!!:D

In Europe, it's common for people to fish for pike with dead bait. It doesn't appear people do that much in America in general and the Passaic in particular.

Maybe this is a new tactic that deserves some attention - or maybe it's just a fluke.

my father in law always tells me "if you catch anything it'll be a fluke!" its funny, except when im fishing freshwater :p
