Took MikeyT's advice and the wife and I took a sick day. :D Hit Budd Lake to try for a few Pike. A little wet and chilly start but a we had a decent day. Total of 6 Pike...nothing big but they are a blast. And the last guy had his revenge on my thumb...I guess I need longer pliers. All caught on a Fire Tiger Crankbait or bluegill lipless crank. Also got a few LM a couple white perch and a Yellow Perch on the same baits. Not another boat on the water either. Few pics of the day.

Great job on the pike and bass !! Just keep an eye on where the pike broke the skin. I had two very bad infections over the years from a pike breaking skin on my hand and forearm. My hand blew up to about 3 times the size !! Of course the pike I am talking about was from the Passaic........so you may be fine !! LOL
Great catching !!

Wow...thanks for the heads up. Will do. I'm not sure Budd Lake is much cleaner than the Passaic!!! Ha!
Passaic is surprisingly clean until it reaches the Totowa/Paterson area. Much cleaner than any stagnant lake or pond which can hold millions if not billions of bacteria. It may not smell that nice at times and contains every piece of garbage known to man but its relatively clean water by river standards. Moving water is always cleaner than water thats not. I'd sooner swim in the passaic than any pond or lake I know. I work in a lab and the fecal & enterococcus bacteria counts for our beaches is awful. The warmer the weather, the worst it gets. Keep your kids out of the water!
As for cuts, I have a med kit in my car full of everything. I first wipe it down with alcohol(it will sting but that's good) then neosporin and then bandaid it.
I've learned to carry a pair or needle nosed pliers for pick & pike. I also pinch barbs down for easy release(you'll lose fish but you save the lives of many of them and save blood0. You can also release lure thru the gill opening to avoid the teeth. Just pull it thru and cut line.

Sweet catch dude! I find anytime I "give blood" on the water, the water seems appeased & gives right back. The fish gods were happy with ur offerings lol. Keep it going, black n yellow black n yellow!!
