Has anyone fished Culver Lake in Sussex Co? I know it's private but I may have the opportunity to rent a cabin for a few days this summer and was wondering if the fishing was any good.

State record Hybrid came out of there. I fished it once with a lurker on this board. There are a ton of fish in that place. I reccomend bringing a lot of Herring and slip bobbers. Go get em!!!

I didn't know there were hybrids? I was thinking it might be a LMB and pickerel lake.

I had a buddy who's family rented a bungalow on Culvers on a yearly basis. They used to throw chicken livers off the bank at night and get cats and hybrids. I saw the pictures to confirm. I ice fished it once and got the usual suspects. It's a non restricted motor lake so it can get busy on the weekends.

It fishes alot like LH does, very similar coves and points. They throw about a 1000 fingerlings in a year of hybrids, and they do well up there. There are the usual fish like other lakes, and there are still some trout in there, but not many. Was privately stocked by the resident fishing club over the years, the ones caught are usually good sized holdovers, bring LOTS of herring and liveline, downline, slip bobbers, etc.

I have to make less friends with people in townhouses and more friends with people on private fishing lakes.:D

The usual suspects, but the hybrids are the main target species. :p
