Beginners Luck!!!

Well after the poor evening on fri night not sitting too well with me I decided to try again. My daughters has been wanting to do this for a while and figured it would be a good night to take her in search of her first eye! We got on the water about 11:00pm and hit the first spot and BOOM third cast with the Magic Lure she's in! I figured OH BABY this is gonna be a great night! Landed it snapped a quick pic and off it went. Like two or three casts later BOOM! hooked up again! Unfortunetly this one popped off! We then made a move to the same areas Jeremy and myself fished the night before and they were there again blowing up on bait everywhere. Had a few swipes but no love till Finally I hook up with a nice fat hybrid! We then decided to move to another spot I mentioned to Jeremy looked good the night before and proceeded to loose two more! Very Frustating to say the least! Extremely tired and sore we finally called it a night about three ish happy to get Kelly's First Walleye and a nice hybrid for myself.

When I take a friend or family member fishing, I worry more about them actually catching a fish than me getting skunked. Having someone who doesn't experience "this" as much as we do come out and enjoy themselves is something I get great joy from. Glad you guys landed a couple fish. I wish the Hybrids had as good of aim as the Walleye do!


BTW, I googled Magic Lure and could not find what you were talking about. Is that the triple jointed deep diving topwater jig you were telling me about? :p

It's not beginners luck on the GetAnet. That's a well oiled fishing machine. The girls got her dad's fish sense in her blood. Great job buddy! Looks like the FAMOUS FISHING KELLY is gona be hooked on that night bite. YEA BUDDY!!!!:D

good job buddy, way to get your daughter out there........Bites been wierd the past couple days, not sure if its the boat traffic or what. I had my GF in the boat when i saw u trying to get her first eye too. No love tho, I only got 2 big wipers in the 2 hrs we were out, she got zip, wasnt as hot and heavy as it was during the week. By end of the month its gonna be all over, get em while u can

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I love spending time fishing with my children as I am blessed with kids who like the outdoors just like their Dad.
Kelly has a special place in my heart as she is HardCore just like me!
We have spent many hours at night doing her favorite kind of fishing- Night time Rainbows on the valley.
And chasin Hybrids and Largemouths!
I must say when we fish she knows how and what to do during lanching and loading too! She is quite a little fishing machine!
That was definetly my goal for the evening, her first eye and since she caught it on her third cast it made for a great night taking in all the sights and sounds of the spring spawn on the big pond!
