Has anyone ever fished this lake in pequannock? I used to fish it a lot five years ago and used to catch a lot of bass. My pb was caught there at six pounds on a baby bass colored senko worm. Recently I fished it again and just got some small bass. Its very deep and has great weed lines. It seems to be overpopulated with sunnies and all of the trees are cut down since they plan on building a banquet hall there. But who knows when that will happen. I have not gotten kicked out of there so I will keep fishing. Here is a pic of the beast back in 07. He hit my worm in the middle of the lakes and jumped out of the water forty yards away. Ill never forget it.

I use to fish Sun Tan Lake back in the 50's and 60's. I was a little boy so all I caught was sunnies. But I remember the lake being crystal clear. My family rented picnic tables for a season fee for 20 + years there. I learned how to swim there. Till this day I can still see my grandfathers tattooed outreach arms encouraging my brother and I to jump off the concrete wall into the lake. Like yesterday.
I believe the lake was where the home depot on Rte. 23 is now. I barely remember an Island Lake nearby on Rte. 23.

I fished there about 2 years ago several times (during spring time) and got kicked out at least twice by Police.... I did however nail a nice 7 lb+ largemouth on a senko...

Its 5 minutes from my house. I pass it frequently but never thought of fishing there. I remember when it was an active beach. In the 70's we'd be on the way to our lake house in Sussex Cty and my dad would always tell us how lucky we were to have our lake house and not have to swim in that ''polio pond'' as he called it and the other pay to swim lakes that lined RT 23.

I remember massive Black Willows on the shores of that lake.

How big?

TBH it's hard to say..... I never ever bother measuring pan fish (crappie, sunfish, etc..).. but if I had to guestimate Id say..... easily about/almost 2lbs and 15".... I was actually using a texas rigged wiggle worm with bullet and I though I had a big bass when it hit.. I was surprised when I pulled it up  Funny thing is the crappie hit my rig about 4 feet from shore.....
