fishing with the kids

I took my 2 girls (16 & 5) my son (8) and my 2 nephews (10 & 8) to a local pond yesterday for some sunny action. Saw a couple big bass cruising the shore line. In 2 hours they all together caught 16 blue gills & pumpkin seeds. Boys won 9-7. They all had a blast. For me it was non stop hook tying, baiting of hooks, untangling of lines, unsnagging of branches, releasing of the fish, and answering of a thousand and one questions. I too had a blast.

Great stuff. One time my daughter caught 9 sunnies on the same worm.
Might have been the same fish, too.
I just toss a corn/dough ball on a hook and toss into into the middle of the pond and leave it there while I tend to the kids. Never got a carp, but t did get a prehistoric snapping turtle that my nephews still talk about.
