Some big panfish...

Had the day off and went pond hopping over in Pa. Caught plenty of bass & pickerel but nothing truly big but did get some big panfish. Also got my first Bullhead on a spinner. It wasn't fouled hooked either. It was lip hooked just like everything else was. The male Bluegill was nearly 11" and the Pumpkinseed very close to that. Both qualify for Pa Angler Award

Wow - those are some big sunfish. This is the time of year to get them.

Not only is harvesting sunfish not bad for a fishery, it's necessary to maintain a proper bass-to-panfish ratio.
