View Full Version : rock bass on the wallkill river

I decided to scout the river today right by the stateline, mostly to check water levels. Pretty much back to normal which makes me happy, its not a honey hole but it always produces. I didn't expect much as it was warm and sunny but to my surprise the rock bass were active. I'll caught a few around 10-11." No pics as i was traveling light and they were only rockbass. However they were nice healthy specimens. Its been a slow spring for me so it was nice just catching fish.

Gotta knock the rust off somehow. Always good to find some action!!

Exactly, ill take small fish on light gear happily. I'm not picky.

Funny they were biting, on LH the other night with Eddie, he landed 4 or 5 in like a 10 minute span. Usually only see a handful of them per year.

I pull them from gwl and the wallkill. These were full figured nice lil fish.
