Places to get live shiners/minnows in North Jersey?

Hi all,

I am having a heck of a time trying to find a place to get live baitfish somewhere closer to Montclair, NJ than an hour's drive away. Anybody know of any bait shops that have live baitfish closer to Montclair/Clifton than a two-hour round trip away?

I live in the same area and use both places mentioned above. Totowa opens earlier than Meltzers.

Franks in Wanaque usually has them. Fin Fur and Feathers on Rt 23 in Newfoundland has them sometimes.

I've been there a few times for bait. Nice owner. I hope they make it because there is little else up there. There is the hunting and fishing shop a few miles north on 23 that seems to do OK. Sadly, the local bait and tackle stores are losing to Cabelas and BPS. I'm as guilty as hell of contributing to that and I've lately made an effort to try to buy local. We all need to do that, lest we'll have a great selection of lures online, but no place to buy bait.

a bait shop so close to the sheds.
