Got this is an email that was forwarded to me
Here's a fish story for you! And pictures to prove that it isn't just a story.
For those of you who don't know where Turtle Lake is, it's a beautiful resort and lake in Northern Saskatchewan.....probably the biggest nearby center would be North Battleford.
No one will ever see me swim in Turtle Lake again!!
This is NOT a fish story !
It's a new record Northern Pike in Canada. The man was fishing and caught a 36" Pike.
As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lb. Pike tried to eat it !!!!! He landed them both in the same net! The last picture is unreal.

Imagine using a 35" pike for bait. Just when you think you're at the top of the food chain...

And that it was somehow caught in Turtle Lake Saskatchewan, Rainy Lake Canada (http://www.fourwinds10.net/siterun_data/entertainment/sports/news.php?q=1227933613), Big Bass Lake Michigan, Volkerak Lake Holland, and who knows where else.
very impressive fish, but those pictures have been making the rounds for years and years. who knows when or where it actually happened... but it wasn't recent.

best i can tell (by looking for the oldest places the picture was shown), the fish was actually caught in holland in 2005 and the fisherman's name is Ewout Blom

Correct. That's an old story. All of those sick fat pike are European strain pike. The guy in the pic most certainly looks like he's from the other side of the pond. There are definitely some big Canadian pike, but they don't reach the same proportions as the ones overseas.
