lots of interesting structure to note all over the lake. many new holes have been created where the lower water level caused the inlet streams to wash away the dirt and debris that used to line the coves. will be lots of nice new deep channels in the coves when it refills.
around 10:30 the wind really started ripping (away from the launch of course) and whitecaps were rolling across the main lake. i was getting blown around too fast to troll anymore so i decided to head back in. no pics of the wind whipped lake because i was concentrating on keeping the wet side wet and the dry side dry. spent the next half hour taking rollers over the bow and splashing my way back to the launch and then another half hour BSing with a fellow angler who was also calling it a day.
got back to my truck just in time for a CO to roll up and check licenses.

after the shenanigans from a few years back, i am always glad to see them at splitrock. i asked him if he knew when they would be wrapping up the dam road repair project and he didn't know. he did say that the work was supposed to be done over the winter, but due to the extra harsh winter we had, they had a lot of delays. they must be getting pretty close to done because the dirtbikes and quads were using the new road today.
no fish, too windy
