I had a trip on the local lake planned yesterday with a friend. We didn't even need to call each other to call it off because the wind was so bad. This evening things looked a tad better but I decided not to to take the boat out and instead hit the dock for a few casts.
While on the dock a monster trout followed my tiny Shad Rap back. Two weeks ago they had stocked some 5-8 lbers. Well this was one of those, or possibly one of the holdovers that get pretty big here, but it was the sort of fish that makes your heart beat faster just because you saw it. Alas, he didn't like my Shad Rap or the spoons, spinners and everything else I threw in the area that he retreated to. But it's nice to know he's still out there.
