just curious if anyone has ever used marshmallows to float corn or nightcralwers off the bottom a bit, i tried 2 rods out yesterday for carp but the bottom of the lake was covered in dead weeds & the baits kept getting covered. Just wondering if anyone has any advice. mucho thanks

I haven't tried marshmallows but they might work. There are a bunch of options, I would try something that stays on the rig a little better. If you're fishing corn on the hook Cabelas sells packages of tiny fluorescent styrofoam balls that you can put on the hook. On a hair rig you can use fake popup corn or popup boilies, you can buy those online. I usually use puffs on the hook, they float off the bottom. Buy Arrowhead Mills puffed corn, use a 1/0 owner or gama octopus hook, 2-4" of 30lb floro attached to a barrel swivel and 1-4oz lead depending on where you are fishing.
