Seeing all the photos here of big smallies that are being yanked out of the Raritan left and right, I decided to make the drive to one of my honey holes on the South Branch, and it did not disappoint. I bagged my biggest NJ smallie in years, a beautifully colored 17.5-incher that weighed just a couple crayfish under 3-1/2 pounds. But the real surprise was yet to come, as my jig got slammed by a true monster!

I liked the "Who wants to be a Millionaire" type music during the fight.
