Headed up to the freshly stocked 'po this evening and saw a bunch of old salts in the water at about 5:45. I ran up stream from them and found that not every pocket was filled with a fisherperson. Much less crowded than anticipated.
Started upstream, worked my way down. Ended up with a decent sized rainbow about 14 inches that ended up going for a ride back to the grill. Tasty.
That's all I got, but I'm not very good at catching trout so I was happy. Inline spinner, a heavy gold classic vibrax.
Was supposed to meet up with Scoward but we ended up missing eachother. I think he got out on the yak and i was in the stream. We'll get it right one of these times.
Also, some old jerk fisherman (if you're on this board, sorry, but it wasn't right) fished from one spot and worked down stream for about 100 yards. I went about 40 yards up stream from him after he was clearly done with some spots and he walks back over and starts casting in front of me. I almost said something, but i was aggravated and didn't want to start anything. keep in mind, no one left in sight. entire side of the river to himself, but he decided to fish a spot he worked for over 20 min and then walked away. took a lot for me not to say anything. i did laugh though as his first cast got tangled and he kept getting his net stuck in the bushes when he was trying to walk. ha. anyway, that wasn't cool.
