Open Water Pike

Splashed the yak for the first time this year with a few other NJFishers and connected with my first pike of 2014. Not a monster but it felt good to finally hook up after a few open water attempts. Thanks to Skunk City for being near by with the net.

Thanks guys, I was running my yak kinda bare bones tonight so no temp info. All the Passaic River gauges are reading 46ish...

Millstone? I was going to ask how you got it in the Passaic which is near flood stage and yoohoo(at least around Fairfield it is)

4 of us made it out yesterday in the yaks, but Scott was the only one dialed in. A few minutes before this one, he got cut off by a nice sized Pike that took him into a laydown.

Spring has sprung gentlemen. Lots of wildlife activity out there, including tons of birds, a set of spawning Pike in less than a foot of water, and a couple pissed off Beavers chasing us around :eek:.
