After sleeping late, working on the boat, and going to Dick's I was about to loose my mind since I had no solid fishing plans this weekend for quite some time.
I still had a bucket of shiners from last week so I decided to go some where very close for an hour or so just to get out. It's a puddle that you can throw a rock across with very murky water but seems like it warms up quick.
With in five minutes the float goes under real slow, I thought it was the shiner but nope empty hook, The bass were barely hitting the baits, seemed like they swam up and mouthed the bait and then settled back to the bottom. After realizing the bite I caught two small large mouths about 10-12 inches long. Lost one more at the shore that came unbuttoned and missed two or three other bites.
Quite happy with the outcome and glad to catch my first open water fish of the year.

Hey buddie nice going, ya had a lot better luck than me. Tommy and me put the Flatcreek Ferry on the big D for a few hour this afternoon. We tried jigs, binskies, shad raps, repalas and my favorite shinner under a slip bobber. We got no love, but it was great to be on the water and have a couple sandwiches the grizz made us.

Way to get it started Dale....Nicely Done.

Kmaty - I believe you....you got the pics to prove it from what i've seen...and all the while everyone else was saying it's too early and too cold. Very jealous dude. Keep it up.
