I have been very happy with Lew's Tournament MG ($129.99) casting reel. It performs better than some of my $200+ reels. I can cast not only 3/4 oz+ lures but also wacky real far.

Now, I want to buy something better. Does anyone know the difference between the BB1 Pro Speed ($199.99) and the Speed Spool Tournament Pro ($199.99)? How about Pro Speed Spool ($299.99)? Gold Speed spool ($249.99)?

Actually, I just want to carry one rod and one reel for heavy lures (3/4 oz +) as well as weightless worms. Does anyone have any experience with $200+ Lew's casting reels?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Bergen Angler, I have been using Lew's reels for some time now. If you are concerned with the reels weight then go with the Team Lew's Pro Speed Spool. If not go with the Tournament Pro Speed Spool. If there is a cost issue the BB1 Pro reels are very good reels they cast a mile and the drags are smooth.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for your input. I don't have any issue with reel weight (MG is quite light). My concern is being able to cast weightless worm as well as heavy lures. I hate to carry more than one rod & reel.

One Rod, One Reel, Every Possible lures from weightless to heavy metal spoons/blades.

Bergen Angler, The BB1 Pro has the good bearings and is a smooth reel. It should be what you need.

Thank you so much.
I don't like to carry one bait caster for heavy lure and one spinning reel for light lure. I just want to carry one rod, one reel for all lures.

If I have to choose BB1 vs. Pro speed ($299), which does a better job for less than 1/8 oz lure? I know both will be great for > 1/2 oz.
