I read a review somewhere on the Vexilar one and the guy said be sure to use 30 LBS braid when casting it out as he had a Pike make a grab at his.

Very cool concept, although casting something worth over a hundred bucks would have me holding my breath when the line goes off the reel.

I may or may not be interested. It's too new of a product to judge it yet. I'll keep an eye on the Amazon reviews and see how this goes.

If you scroll through the reviews, you'll get some idea of how worthwhilea product is. I keep in mind that some of the ecstatic reviews are posted by the manufacturer/dealer and an unsatisfied custiomer is more likely to write a review than a satisfied one. The truth lies somewhere in between.

Various castable sonar units have been on the market for a while, but I've never actually seen anybody using one.

I remember that from the commercials on the Jerry McKinnis show.
You could also get the wrist watch receiver.
I'm with MOZ, too much too lose to a tree, floating log etc.
But for the fisherman who has everything...or nothing why not.
