Got outta work early and finally got a chance for some trout on Saturday. Was doing my usual trout magnet drifts all afternoon, tried many colors, only managed one small bow and a foul hooked sucker. 5:15 rolls by and fish started surfacing, i knew i couldn't give up yet. Did a change for once and it paid off. Tied on a tiny marabou jig shorty before the sun set and nailed 3 quality bows, lost 4 others. If only i knew earlier :p

Nice catch dude. Way to figure em out. Seems the trout stayed hungry all year as long as you found open water.

Just got a delivery of 1/32 oz marbou jigs from BPS...Andy taught me about how well they work for Trout last year so I stocked up. Now if I can just get a day to actually use them. Away this weekend for a "winter camping" trip in PA with a few college buddies. No fishing unfortunately but the drink will be flowin' for sure... Looking forward to the warm weather and the melt down.
Have fun out there this weekend fella's.

Congrats on sticking with it! what color marabou was working, if it mattered?
Been quite a while since I've been to the gorge.
Interesting to hear the fish were rising late in the day. only thing I know of coming off about now are black stones... were there any bugs flying over the water that you could see? yeah, yeah, I know you weren't flyfishing, just askin' :D
