Of course I am going to say Canyon.... :) But I like a higher ratio on my reels. If your working jigs... the higher ratio can come in handy. :)

Both good choices. I would see which reel will balance best on rods you are going to use. Accurate will be the heavier of the reels.

Hey did you see any of the new Release Surf series at the Suffern show? Supposed to have a lower ratio than the SG. Waiting for a lefty

Saw the new Release reel, spoke with the owner and they are super lite and 6:1 is a little much for deep drops but worth the look all made in Va, with various parts from other American states!

No surf reel yet. Owner said soon. Gonna be a star drag reel.

And if it does not feel right..... any builder can balance it for you. We do it often! Makes a big difference! :)

The owner and sales rep of Release will be at the Somerset Show next week. Maybe they'll have the surf reel then. I have the SG with the 44mag reel and like it a lot.
