All sinkers are .12 an oz.Why carry a bag of sinkers around at the flea markets when you can have them delivered to your door for .12 an oz. This is all year long and not just on weekends..
There is a guy calling himself Sam the sinker man at the flea markets , but it is not me. I only do one market and that was the hi-mar.So if I act as if I don't know what you are talking about it's because you weren't talking to me.
This is also the time of the year to start to think about making your own bucktails..I make the ultra minnow, but if you would rather get them from one of the sponsor shops I believe that Jersey Tackle and Jersey hooker have the plain jigs along with all the stuff to finish them with..They are not mine but they also need all the help you can give them..Stop by and see Pete, Tom or Richie, I'm sure they can set you up with everything you need.

You are a class act Sam for promoting business for other sponsors on your post. With that being said, I purchased some plain lead bucktails from Kevin Bogan, by any chance were they your product?

Sam

I will also keep my eyes open for you on the IMPOSTER. Trust me if I find him he will not be using your name and leeching off your good name and reputation any longer.

You said it, Sam is a class act. First time I met Sam was several years ago. I was looking to make some sinkers as my friend Oakley in Nutley had a stash of lead. He had bank sinker molds but I wanted to make some flats. Posted on the site if I anyone had any flat sinker molds to purchase. Hear I get this email from this guy who called himself Sam the Sinkerman. I had heard of him from the site as guys who ordered from him were very positive on his product and especially his price and customer service but never met him before. Here is a guy who is in the business of making sinkers and he sends me a message that if I want to stop by I can borrow his molds so that I can make my own sinkers and just return them when I am done. Remember I was a total stranger to this guy. I offered him to pay him for use but those who know SAM he does things because he wants to and not because he wants anything in return. Was a very important lesson I learned that day from old guy wearing a hat with a bunch of dogs that some were bigger than me and probably outweighed me too. Now that I have known him for several years his generosity does not surprise me. He is truly one of the good ones that God has placed on this earth. World would be a much better place with more Sam's in this world.

I just got my yearly supply of plain bucktails from Sam. They are the best. No flash, Ultra sharp hooks, price is great and the mailman does all the lifting. All you need to do is paint and tye on your bucktail.

Sam.... help me out here..... early last year I bought a bunch of plain jig heads from you didnt I?? I kinda need to know because if the guy standing in my shop was not you..... I was seriously "duped" here.

Unfortunately, because of Sandy, my local fluke biz was about 70% less than the usual seasons. We were heavy into the offshore thing last year. I want to say I ordered 100 of each size? Plain heads? The very little inventory I have left is from that initial order. ( Thanks to Sandy)

So here are my 2 questions////
1- Was it you that I purchased about 100 -125 lbs of plain heads from? Because the guy said he was you, I can tell you that.

2- Do you still make them? because we are finally running low and sold out of some sizes actually.

If it was you I purchased them from... Im sorry if you assumed I was buying from another supplier and yes... it was nice to mention us.... but I'm not like the other guys Sam.... I stick with the local guys, sponsors of the local sites, as 75% of my shop is made up of guys like yourself.

This business plan actually hurts me, because I pay what the members here pay for the same products that are on my wall. Many shops do not deal with the local guys who compete against the shops .... but I try to stick it out as best I can. I pay dearly for it... trust me. But... I still do it.

Most shops throw you guys out, once they find out that your selling to their customers..... I have never done that. If it was you... I need more. If it wasnt you.....I was fooled I guess.

After reading Tom's post above, I called him. I did at one time drop off a bunch of plain jig heads to him. I did not realize at the time I made my post that he still had some..As plain jig heads became more popular there have been guys that used to make just finished bucktails making plain ones and selling them with the finished ones..I do not blame them nor do I blame the tackle shops for buying from many different suppliers..I get many calls from guys asking where they can get the supplies to finish their bucktails. I try to promote the shops that carry that stuff even though they don't buy from me.Tom just happens to have some of my jigs and he also has the stuff to make complete ones..Kevin might even have some of the heads left..Those are the only 2 shops that MIGHT have some.I don't go from shop to shop or from boat to boat trying to sell stuff..I'm not that way..Maybe that's why I only deal with a handful of CB and one party boat. Tom was right, most shops don't like to deal with people that compete against them..Well then they must be really pissed off at all the flea markets that are going on in their areas right now..Not to mention e-bay..So in conclusion if you need a handful of this or that or some fine quality handtied rigs, stop into any of our sponsor shops and pick some stuff up..they had a bad year with Sandy and all the nasty weather that we have been having.
Gerry if this doesn't belong here or anyplace else, then take it down!!!!!

This whole thing here was a misunderstanding but it shows just how bad things have become. We use Sam " The Real Sinker Man" for our jig heads and other products..... you have to stick with a good thing when you find it!!

Sam has brought to light a good topic here.... with all of the games being played and the way there is no more loyalty in this business!!!

I am glad we spoke, as I was unaware of what has been going on and I looked deeper into it and it seems my employees have also been fooled by a certain somebody claiming to be Sam as far as sinkers go.

I want to make it clear..... we use the good jigs, made by Sam, the original "plain jig head" guy here. I also wanted to clear this up because I did not want to be placed into the company of other shops that would do anything to save a penny! We hear the things said, we hear the deals being made, we laugh at them...... and we continue to do our thing. We go with that old "Sticks & Stones" saying..... but I admit I get a little upset if I am placed into the company of these guys ..... thats my big issue. :D

We need more of the smaller sizes, I am sending over the order today Sam. Cant beat the quality, the hooks and the fact that they are true to the sizes. I am glad this is straight as far as Jersey Tackle. The other guys who save a penny and jump ship.... thats their business.... but we are sticking with Sam. :)

Sam for president of the USA!!!!!!

I 2nd that Kevin! It sucks that somebody would go so dam low as to say they are somebody they are not! Thats like me telling people I make Fish Posion Rods... I cant imagine taking credit for somebody's work and all to make a buck?

We work through the junk and find the best local tackle guys around. Once we find them... we stick with them. I dont care if I break even... I know my customers are getting the best products. I will find a way to make it up elsewhere.. :)

OK, time to ...weigh in....here.. I have now worked with Sam for the past few years and found that he has an unmatched, first class approach to his business and partnership with the people he deals with, whether a tackle shop, tackle maker or individual looking to make some products for themselves. As I have grown my personal business very quickly from it's inception a short time ago, I have learned some very valuable lessons. One is that loyalty and true partnerships in the business are hard to find. I doubt many people here have the slightest inclination of the sacrifices Sam has made and does make regularly for customers and people in general. I have had a few conversations and fished with Sam and have come to respect not only what he does for others but who he is as a person. It's truly a disgrace that someone is representing themself as Sam at the flea markets and now potentially elsewhere. I have had many solicitations as a result of the social media sites, internet web sites and personal interactions from suppliers wanting to conduct business with me. I have remained loyal to Sam and will continue to do so. I know what quality I will get from Sam in every order. I depend on that for my customers, whether the several charter boat captains using my products, the tackle wholesalers or everyday angler buying for personal use in their tacklebox. I hope that someone identifies the impostor "Sam" quickly to put an end to it.

I agree....... stealing somebody's hard work and name...... its a disgrace. Tough enough in this biz already..... now you have to worry about imposters.....
