Gave the valley a shot today from 8-330. There were 2 Lakers caught while I was setting up, they were both small around 16-17 inches. There were quite a few flags popping today but the Lakers were just lipping the baits. I couldn't get em to swallow no matter how much line I let them take. I felt the weight of the fish a few times only to have them come off maybe 20-30 feet into trying to pull them up. Nothing on the jig today which was a surprise to me. Usually get into them pretty good with the right technique. I got frustrated but couldn't let myself leave, the Valley is way to beautiful this time of year. Some very breathtaking views in my opinion. Stuck it out and wound up with nothing to put on the table. That's the way it goes sometimes. At least I can say I made it out there again. What a great place, love it!

The 2 small Lakers were caught in 75 feet of water. I was fishing a little deeper, 85 feet of water. Thats where most of the missed opportunities were today. 10 guys on the ice with maybe 10-15 Lakers that just wouldn't SWALLOW!!! LOL, life goes on!

TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

Well I was about 50 yards from the open water. Ice was 6 inches thick, 3 black ice and 3 white ice. I was trying to get into the trough that runs from north tower to the point. Found the water I needed and the fish, just couldn't get a good hook set in guess. They were playing with the damn bait, gumming it! The ice got pretty SOFT and WET by late afternoon. Be careful out there dudes.

YEA BUDDY!!!!

Lakers always have that magic hour that makes 95% of the day pretty boring.

Good stuff Eddie. I'm jealous. Been dying to get out! Any bows or browns pulled through the ice that you're aware of?

No browns and bows pulled in yesterday. Didn't check the campers launch to see if anyone was out. There's a possibility that there was people out there.

Dying to get out? Come to Spruce Saturday morning!

I didnt get the memo for RV? lol.......I see alot of guys that fish for lakers use small trebles and they run them in the dorsal fin on bait, or run a second stinger on a 4" palomar knot tag end and tuck it by the tail, supposedly makes hookup ratios much higher
