Northern nj ice fishing 2/7

Hit a Northern NJ Pike lake with Rocco, Mikey and Seth on this glorious friday. Mental health day for me, hell it was too nice out to work anyway. Well, we were in search for Pike but came up empty. There aren't any Pike left in that place. They've all been poached out and turned into fishcakes..............:eek:!!! AAHHHHHHHHHH, we did however manage to catch quite a few other fish on the tip-ups today. Largies, Pickeral, Perch and a Crappie paid us a visit today. Mikey got the biggest fish of the day, 20 inch, maybe more LM. We caught a good amout of Bass today. Also caught some Slime darts up to around 24 inches with some real dinks in the mix. The other Slime darts were like 15-16 inchers, very small. Ahhhhh, thats fine, flags were flying all day. Jig bite was non existent as we could only manage a few small Perch today, actually I did get a small LM on the jigging rod with 3 lb test. That was a hell of a little fight on the ultra lite. Great day out there today fellas!!! Can't wait to do it again!!!

P.S. THERE AINT NO PIKE LEFT IN THAT MOFO!!!

I'm away next weekend so can't make GWL but the 22nd at Spruce still looks good for me. Hope the weather holds and I'll see you whackos there.

Damn I'm jelous tryin to get a day off to enjoy as much of this ice fishing as I can on this great winter. If that's the place I'm thinking it is man I caught my first pike there when I was like 15. We used to catch a ton of crappie and huge bass there also, but its been years since I fished it. I used to get em where the creek comes in to the lake on creek chub that we would catch right out of the creek. We would also get them on the opposite side of the lake from where the creek is. There is a big weedline they would hang out in. Looks like you guys had another great day of catchin nice goin.

Shiners mostly, couple fish caught on the jigging rod as well.

Yeaaaa some real slobs we pulled up def think theres bigger in there though! We caught em on shiners fished a ft or two off the bottom
