So how do you guys keep content throughout the winter(blues)? I'm not big on ice fishing so i dont have that as a viable option for me. I finally finished my "man cave" room which includes all of my organized tackle and such. If you do what i do, then you probably also reorganize your tackle about 3 different times, sell old stuff, buy new stuff, organize once more.. then wait for the ice to melt.. Luckily i have my boat to keep me a little occupied this winter. I still need to install a new FF & install the speakers for the radio i installed in my boat.. It is spring yet?

I plan spring trips, or at least try to.

I fish... lol. Rivers are loaded with trout. Lots of hard water guys here too.
Tackle is always getting cared for throughout the year. Line constantly being changed throughout the year too. Hooks kept sharp, knots practiced, tested and re-tested. Attend some shows in the slower months, if I can.

I do some trout fishing on the streams and lakes. Some open water panfishing and definetly some ice fishing if it's locked up solid! I hit a few shows, DON"T BOTHER WITH THE RARITAN SHOW! Last couple years I've went and said never again because it seems like they will give a table to anybody selling anything anymore! Jewelry, candles and wine doesn't belong at an OUTDOOR EXPO!!! I think I might hit harrisburg this year for a change too. Plenty of tackle and boat stuff to do also. I start watching for stuff marked down in the stores as well! I got two penn liveliners for 25.00 each last year marked down at DICK"S. And it's also time to get caught up on the Honey-Do list since she lets me fish whenever I want which is just about every weekend!!! LOL

I usually have a new boat to work on and this years no different. A new Flatcreek Ferry will be on the water in the spring. Just picked up a 20 year old 16ft Meyers in great shape and I'll be getting everything the way I want it this winter. This weekend I want to get out for a few hour gonna be nice. Got a nice 14 ft deep vee for sale boat motor and trailer 100% ready to go. Anyone interested can pm me.

I'd reconsider ice fishing. I used to think it was a last resort to get through the winter, now I look forward to it. I never stop fishing, ever. I make take a couple weeks here and there to spend with the lady, but there's always fish to be caught. The Delaware will stay free of ice alot, and most years Round Valley is open and you can even catch lakers from the shore in the winter. You can also catch rat stripers in the surf all winter or hop on party boat and do some bottom fish. Plenty of options.

Ice fishing is sweet, but take up hunting and you will never be bored in the winter again. Best time of the year.
