With crazy work for the rest of this week and hunting next week, I don't think I will be hitting the river with a rod for some time. After 10 hours in a tree in PA yesterday without seeing a deer, I did a few morning things around the house and it was just too nice out not to put the kayak in the river for a couple of hours before work.

90 minutes in a few "can't miss" spots, without even a follow. After not feeling too good about getting my last pike of the year, I made another cast into a spot I hit on the way away from the launch. This time I threw the spinner bait and it got slammed by a good pike! After a few good runs, I was able to get the fish near a bank for a picture. Upper 30's, and I think the fattest and heaviest pike of the year. I wish I had a better picture of the size and girth of this fish, but I was lucky to even get a couple pictures before he twisted back into the water with a big splash.

Now it's time for stripers and a few more days in the woods.

No deer, no worries! I can see how fat that big girl is. Nice catch Dan!!! That's a healthy Passaic River Pike without a doubt. Still time left to get some trophy BUCKS!!!! Come to Nomehegan Park in Cranford, couple of 10 pointers running around.

TIGHT LINEZ & STRAIGHT SHOTS!!!

Nice Pike Dan, I'm sure the Pike won't miss seeing your grill this winter.
