Took the big guy (Bubba) back up to the south branch again today....we are still learning the water, and trout techniques, so I would call today's trip a modest success; He out fished me 2-0, picking up his first brownie (i think) along with a rainbow...both were caught drifting a night crawler on a trout magnet jighead, under a foam TM float....saw a lot of other fish, including a huge brookie right along the bank, but couldn't get them to cooperate, tried CD3's, gold spinners, magnets, and even shiners... here's a pic of the happy kid, you can see the pride in his eyes as this was his first "solo" trout that dad didn't help at all with :) Thanks again for the tips, guys (especially jigman and andy and birdman), like I said we fish a lot for bass and panfish, but are total newbies to trout fishing, but willing to try anything, lol

That's awesome. I'm glad you guys are having success. Great pics--you've got a fishing partner for life!

As an aside, I saw a number of brookies on Friday that refused to take anything I threw at them. I tried pretty much everything and none would commit--eggs, crawlers, plugs, spinners, jigs. The only thing I didnt do was drift a dry fly!
