I have been trying to get my son (9) into his first trout for most of the fall with no luck....we have hit the local fall-stocking sites with spinners, shiners, and powerbait, with lots of fish, but no trout...also have hit Round valley with the same results....would LOVE to be able to get him hooked into one on his own this week (we both have off)...We are both bank-bound, with no waders, but I am willing to travel a bit if there's a good chance of hooking into a decent trout (we live in edison)...Any ideas or tips? I see a few places mentioned in recent posts but not sure how accesible they are for a nine year old, most guys appear to be wading, too....we are both catch and release fishermen, who take our more garbage then we walk in with..

i would still go with RV. It's been up and down there but there have been plenty of good days lately and its simple fishing for a 9 year old. Just try to get there at like 5:30 so you can be set up before the sunrise. You could also try Merrill Creek! just a little harder from shore in my experience
