 Didn't get out on the Stripped bass boat on Tuesday, so I hit the PPC. I started with 6 green crabs, big mistake since I ended up the day going through over 42 crabs.

It didn't matter outgoing, slack or incoming. I fished from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm and left them biting. I lost count after 25 but I was using a single hook with a 3 oz sinker. I tied the hook at the end and about 18" up was my dropper loop for my sinker. I used 1/2 a crab and just slayed them while other people looked at me in wonder on what I was doing. I let them know, but as some people are, they did not listen and I continued to hook tog after tog right in front of them. Most of the fish were 13"-14", but I had 8 over 16" with the 17" fish that I kept for dinner.

Thanks for the report, I was out there last Saturday for slack tide at a location I'd done well at in previous weeks and couldnt even get a bite. I watched guys fishing nearby and they werent catching anything either. I thought the fish had left the canal, guess not. I'll try a new spot next time.

Fished there Tue. and hammered them. Went back today and hammered them again. It's been stupid fishing for weeks. Lots of fun with the occasional keeper.

You can get greenies from just about any B/T store right now. Don't know about whites but you don't need them at the canal. Get there and good luck.

got 1 1/2 dozen from Bogans, Brielle Bait and tackle then the other 2 dozen greens from Reel Life in PP.
I was using a single #5 tog hook and a 3 oz sinker
Very simple set up.
Tie the hook at the end then about 18" above tie a dropper loop for the sinker, it is that simple.

Just outa curiosity how much did the run you? Haven't bought crabs this year and don't know what inflation has done to them lol.

Reel Life was $4.67 a doz when you pay cash and Brielle Bait and tackle was $5.85/ dozen. I don't know why they are a $1 more a dozen in Brielle, it must be because they gave to pay Monmouth Co. Taxes and not Ocean Co. Taxes on their property and have to charge more.

Tried there with clam around 10:00 am on the same day and only had a 10" tog and two other bites. Glad you guys had better luck.

Wow nice report. How did you get away with a 3oz sinker I have used 6-8 and 10 there and still moved on some tides.

Second this hogans is a rip off. I'll get my crabs from one of bait shops off 117 on the way down for 3.99 a dozen. 5.85 is a total rip off!!

The green crabs were the only thing that was more and I wouldn't call it a rip off. Both the hooks and sinkers were much less there.
