10-19 Canyon Report
We had another good canyon trip on the Friday night 22hr trip. Fishing was slow overnight but the tuna turned on in the morning. We had tuna schooled under the boat from 50’ to 200’ at times. We caught the tuna on bait and jigs.
Chris Yeates from Connecticut caught 4 long fin,
Tucker Weisleder from Point Pleasant caught 3 Longfin, including one on 17LB test.
Whitney Korchun from White Plaines NJ caught two,
Sal Venuto from Brooklyn NY boated 2 tuna,
Zack Loriz from Lackawaxen PA caught 2 tuna,
Frank Haefert from Somerset NJ landed two tuna,
Jim Monahan from Monroe NJ caught two tuna.
It looks good for our upcoming trips. The water temperature is steady at 68 to 69 degrees and more good water is moving in.
We have space available on the trips sailing next week.
Tuesday we sail at 7AM for a 31hr trip. They are advertised as Tuna-Tilefish-Mahi. Our main target is tuna. We may fish for Mahi-mahi and or tilefish, it depends upon the day, where we are fishing and the fishing conditions.
