Took some time yesterday to put my trout stamp to good use. Realized I hadn't caught one this year (in 1 attempt). Spooled up the 4# mono, grabbed the box of small inlines and headed off to the mighty Raritan.

First couple casts yielded a small bow. Looked almost to small to be a spring stocker? Next was my pb wild brown! Got em on a size 1 blue fox brown trout spinner. Came in at 8/9 inches and was a feisty little cannibal, lol.

After that I got into some nice thick bows. 5 total, all about the same size. First one came up with a fly hanging out of his mouth!!! Anyone lose a chartreuse wooly bugger? :D After that got another one that had a really cool spotting pattern where it was all over, belly and all. All fish released unharmed to fight again.

Really nice morning, started out cool and overcast and ended up sunny and warm. Leaves where in full effect and made it tough but not impossible to get some. Good times......

NICE work, looks like you got your monies worth of trout stamp in one day.

South Branch by the looks of it. Looks like there will be plenty through the winter, were there a lot of people out today ? Leaves a problem ?

Thanx! Seemed busy for a Thursday morning because of all the cars. However, it was mostly dog walkers and bike riders. Ran into a few other fisherman but not many. Leaves where definately there but just made it a little more challenging. Maybe 1 of every 5 casts where getting fouled with leaves.

Also saw a bunch of good sized fish hangin out that just wouldn't bite. Then I'd move to the next hole and catch one or two.

Congrats on some fine looking fish......and the way you put them near the colored wet leaves makes the pics even better.....I haven't fished for trout in over 10 years(I grew up on the Ramapo) and those pics remind me of those cold April days ......Nice job!!!

Very pretty fish man. Personally not a Trout guy, but I can appreciate the awesome colors/patterns on those fish!
