North Jersy trouting - praying for safe ice

Fished the northern section of Pohatcong River. Caught and released two 13" rainbows. Then I went to the Pequest River right in Belvidere and caught two 14" rainbows. The water was low but the trout were there feeding in 10" of really fast water. All fish caught on extra large butterworms from www.Eliottsbutterworms.com. He just got in 70,000 for the winter fishing season.
My favorite fishing is through the ice. Can't wait for ice fishing so I can jig some yellow perch and crappies on butterworms. I sure hope we get some good safe ice this winter. We're due after the bust of the last two winters.

I can't wait for safe ice either, I already started catching pike and muskie bait. 2 years ago was definitely a bust but last was pretty good for safe ice. The season started late, Dec 26th for me, but it also ended late. I got out April 1st. I am willing to go out in thin ice and put some miles on my car though ;)
