Only got a few years out of my top of line $400.00 Simms waders, last time I spend that much on a pair. Picked up the same thing Wilson got, very light. I like the boot foot because I can use them on the beach also, a wading shoe would just fill up with sand I think.
Haven't got 'em wet yet but they look great, 150 bux on e bay.

Remember waders only come in full sizes, I'm a 10 1/2 and got the size 11, they feel fine.

I've had some crappy luck with waders over the years. I've learned to not spend too much on them anymore, I think $150 is a good cap-off point.

I have the Pipestone bootfoot waders, got them on sale from Cabelas three or four years ago. Started leaking in the seams this year, wet socks when I'm done but not sloshing in water. Going to try wader repair stuff on the seams now that water's getting colder. My first pair of breathable waders so I don't know if they should have lasted longer before leaking. Good luck.

Andy, go to the Simms website and fill out the repair form. I believe the first repair is free. Send the waders to Montana and 4 - 6 weeks later, they come back good as new!

I picked up a pair of cabelas neoprene waders for about $100 the week before last.
With fall fall upon us, it's too cold to be paddling around with a wet ass.
I wore them kayaking yesterday and they seem to be good.
Only time and fishing will decide whether they are durable in the long run.

I have 2 sets of waders. One is the green, canvas-like material from cabelas. Had them over 10 yrs and they just started leaking recently. They've taken a beating too. I use them for places like the passaic where its super muddy now. I get minimal moisture in them but their good to beat the hell out of and get muddy.

My other pair is a neoprene set from cabelas. I think they were like $140 or so. I cook in these--perfect for the winter. I move thru rivers and streams like a seal. They're awesome.

Both pairs are boot foot. Cabelas products have solid warranties etc... So I'll keep using them until something goes wrong.

I have been looking at Dryft waders but havent been able to pull the trigger. I also dont need them... today. Maybe next week? Lol...

My Simms are 10+ years old. They are the built in booted type. I took them surf fishing last year and both soles (felt) detached off the boot. I guess the glue dried up or something. I sent em back to Simms and they fixed em for free. They did however claim to find a pin hole leak and charged me a few bucks to fix. I still cant find the patch or repair. But they are back to perfect condition.

I have a set of older Hodgeman neoprene and found out if it's that damn cold to be in neoprene I probably shouldn't be fishing anyway, I use them for those cold November nights on the beach. Anything below 32* in freshwater my guides are gonna freeze up anyway so I went with the lightweights, just dress warm underneath.

Andy i second that above, send em back to simms theyll take care of ya especially if there top of the line waders. As far as wader shoppin goes you cant go wrong with simms i fish alot fresh and salt lots of cold weather, steelhead with mine all winter in negative degree weather at times just wool socks fleece pants underneath and ur good man! im very happy with simms bought my first pair of g3 guide waders for 35o$ lemme tell you best money ever spent i out grew them and sold em 6 years later now i have a custom guide camo pair and they were like 450 solid as can be nice felt pocket on front reinforced knees just a good wader all around hard to find someone to compete with the simms products thats for sure ya get what ya pay for lol

Most of the time they don't patch the waders, they cut the stitching and replace the panel or area that is leaking with new fabric.
