Sunday Monday Fishing-Funny Brown

Had the chance for all 3 of us, bigfishy and our other buddy who will join here soon, to get out 2 days in a row. Caught alllll sorts of fish! Here are some pic worthy ones. Funny story about the brown..we hooked up with him brought him in to the boat to cut the leader right in the water and he swam away beautifully. We had a lot of good action at that specific point so we circled back around which took about 20 mins and whamm nice run off. Get the fish by the boat and its another nice brown...yeah no.. its the same fish we just caught with the same leader hanging out of his mouth lol So we had to take a quick pic and he healthily swam away again. All the smallies were 20 plus inches and bigfishy weighed his at 6lbs plus. The pickerel was like 24" all fish on bait. We heard a story about a 9lb smallie from an old guy recently..Does that sound possible in NJ or anywhere? Sounds fishy!

As for Smallies that are over 6 lbs, definitely a couple in NJ waters. Fishing the Raritan river last year in late September, October I saw a pod of Smallies cruising together. There was 5-6 in this pod and they were all 19-21 inches except for one. The godfather of RR SMALLIES was swimming in this pod. This fish dwarfed the other Smallies that I caught that day. I'd say this fish was around 24 inches and insanely fat. She didn't want a damn thing I threw at her. They are out there, just hard to come by!!!!!!!

wasn't the longest one we've caught, this was 21" but really fat..they all look like they are starting to fatten up :)

We have seen some monsters in the Raritan too this year spotted a 25+ smallie in a pack with 3 others that had to be 20" same thing though..no interest at all..just got to watch them for about 5 mins..they cruised into the hole and everything swam the hell away. Waiting for fall

Yea man, that's a big ass SMALLIE!!!!! I see the big boys in the Raritan all the time. Even tried live crays and the big one still won't budge. I don't know what else to try! I've tried everything!!!!!

Hahaha you guys can debate all you want ..thats a 6lb verified and theres been bigger than that twice last week alone..doesent look like it but its a solid fish..those are nice pictures of foxes and other non aquatics u run into while fishing...:)

does look pretty fat, its definitely a 5+ all day long. I think if he took a face first shot that thing would be thick and wide. One thing I will say is if I ever make a claim to fish and weight, I have him hanging on a scale w pic, just saying LOL. I hear from guys all the time about these monsters they weigh on bogas and the old spring scales, not even close to accurate, the digitals are almost dead nuts. Regardless thats a super smallie esp for jersey, nicely done fellas..........u guys had some great fishing by the looks of it

See what happens when a guy doesn't do the..."hold it way out in front of you picture trick"...everyone thinks his fish is smaller than he says it is. Next time stretch out those arms so it looks like you have King Kong hands and a peanut head like all self respecting fisherman do...and then say it's 8 lbs. That'll start a conversations HA! :D
