Me and GetANet got out sat. thinking we were gonna killem.....well we didn't. managed 2 catfish and 2 hybrids. It was a tough day....no one was catching any hybrids. We toughed it out waiting to see if they were gonna turn on but they never got hot. We probably lost 4 or 5 fish:( .

Heres a few pics.

Today I headed out for some redemption. Things started out slow 730am to 1030am I landed a catfish in the 3lb. range. A guy who catches a fair share of hybrids actually left by 900am and this made me think about it for second...well not even a second. Kept at and at 1030 see hybrids start to bust on the surface...... 10 mins later my reel is screaming. Battle him for a minute or so and he comes un-buttoned....bummer. Get my line back down and few moments later the reel is screaming again...start reeling and i looked over at my second rod and boom it goes....... doubleheader! Land both fish and immediately get my baits back in the water cuz time is of the essence. 15 mins later my first rod goes screaming again, as I'm reeling I lower my other bait a couple of feet and before I could turnaround it goes .......another double. Gathered myself and got both rods back down landed 3 more fish for the day....quit at 1pm. The last fish almost took my finger. As I was about to hook my "loop" to my DR release the fish hit lol. She pulled the loop tight around my index finger and I had to quick pull it off ......it was my biggest fish at 25"....a nice fatty. Wish Dale was there.....I kept him updated via texted pics.

here's some pics. The last one is the 25incher pic doesn't do it justice

yea , gotta say was a LOOOONG HOT day, but we prevailed. Sometimes you gotta really work for them. We made the best of it though we had perfect sized baits, weather seemed perfect, not many boats out, all the planets seemed to be in line except nobody told the fish!!!! Was glad the few fish we caught were nice sized one especially Jeff's. That fish had to easily go 6/7lbs. We fished hard, had a lot of laughs and squeezed out a few. Left the "PERFECT BAITS" for him for today and look what happened! LOL
Hey you got any left for me?????????????HAHAHAHAHAHA!

good job boys, way to keep at it. somedays its just not happening.....u guys werent the only ones havin it hard yesterday, my biggest hybrid on LH was prob 10" lol. marked tons of schools, they were all crappie and perch, no stripes anywhere even slightly schooled. the fish were turned off bigtime, worst day fishing of the year, I blame the weather, somebody has to be responsible haha

Thanks guys.......Dale and I were trolling through HUGE schools of hybrids but those SOB's wouldn't bite. Today was better ....most fish caught at 15ft. Water temp was up to 80 Degrees.

Sorry Dale used all the "Choice" bait up!

Yeah when I have a tough day it makes me wanna get back out there in a bad way. Just glad it was the next day or I would have had to wait a week.....which isn't good for my mental health ....lol

When u get them schooled up like that and they wont bite try switching it up and take a break from the troll. Ive had the same issues and Id just get on top of them and either jig a binsky thru them or a paddle tail, usually works. downline to them is also good, gives em a chance to see live bait in there face and not work hard for it, thats how I been doin it all summer up here. they eat so damn much that u never know if they just munched out on a school of bait and have full bellies

I hear ya jimmy.....there were enormous schools of bait within 2 to 3 hundred yards of them. I slowed my troll down to .5 mph. and still nothing. At one point I actually shut the trolling motor off and coasted ......barely moving and still nothing. Thats part of fishing....some days you just can't figure them out. I always have a blade bait rigged and ready on my jigging combo, but I'm stubborn too lol.
