Due to severly painfull back I opted not to take out my boat and my daughter and I hooked up with Jeff aka BOOM! Bicey for another great day of hybrid fishing!!! Looking for my daughter's First, wasn't long after we dropped the balls it was on!!! Nice keeper for her First and a Big Smile to go with it. Fishing was a little slow even though we marked some big schools, they didn't want to bite. We put together a catch of five and a nice channel cat too! Sometimes it's not about what YOU catch, it's about having a excellent time watching someone else catch em' I want to throw a great big THANKS to Jeff as he is a truly excellent person and a awesome fisherman.
Being a father as well , he and myself passed the rod to my daughter and watched her battle!!! She ended up with three of the five LOL!!!! I was also glad Jeff stayed on the water as we left a little earlier and was rewarded with several more fish on his own after we left!!!!!!! Here's a Pic of Kelly's First Hybrid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like before, I had a great time fishing with you Dale. It was fun to watch her do battle and let me tell ya......I was extremely impressed. She really didn't need any help.....dad has taught her well.

Yeah I had to go back out and use the "secret" bait :D. I landed five more but most were 18 to 21" with one going 23".

Here's a few pics of the schools of hybrids.

way to catch em up bicey, theyre stacked thick in the DI shot. we dont get them like that on LH til the fall, our schools usually stick to the bottom and spread out unless they are workin bait balls.

hows the thermocline in there this year? Im curious cause I see in your FF pics there isnt one, we didnt rly get one on LH this year either. Its funny cause the weekend b4 last I fished the catfish contest w eddie and there was a slight fuzz on the bottom like a thermocline developing, was wierd casue in the daytime i was bangin stripers and there wasnt one, after dark it kinda started seperating. I dont kno how we didnt get a solid one this year, esp w the 90+ days we had 2 weeks in a row. A guy I know said rain water plays a huge part in it along w water levels. LH is still high, almost full pool. I fished SR last year once in late July and it was 10-11 feet down thru the whole reservoir, never seen anything like it

The thermo was pretty solid most of the summer at the normal depth....After the heat wave , the rains and cool nights that followed pushed it down to about 20-25' ...On friday it was practically non existent...slight fuzz around 20'...

Hope this helps...Curious if others have seen the same at SR?

I'm seeing the same as big fishy.....sat and sunday there was a slight sign of one around 25ft. I was showing some fish below 25 though, but at this point I don't bother trying to catch those fish. The lake level has to be close to full so that definately has an effect. I would call the lake high for this time of the yr. I'm curious to see if they go into their fall pattern sooner than usual.
