Planned on takin the boat out tonight but a flat tire earlier today made me change my plans. Can't be towin with a donut on the ride, lol. Decided to go spot hoppin from shore instead.

First spot was a bust. Not a sniff, moved on......second spot was one I'd been scoping out but never tried. After about 30min I got a nice violent strike on an inline. Pulled drag for a min before coming in. Nice low 30's pike. Didn't weigh em but the hand scale said 7'ish pounds. :D Hung around for a bit with nothin else and moved on.

I had picked up some livers on my way out so spot 3 was my catfish spot. Landed bullheads like crazy with a couple small channels mixed in. Then I set the hook on a nice channel. Peeled line like a beast!!! Didn't weigh em, but the hand scale said around 8#. Sweeeeet!!!

As soon as the sun went down the bugs got vicious. Since I hadn't sprayed myself I decided to pack it up. Not a bad couple hours worth of fishin.....

Very nice multi-species angling. How was the water? I checked the USGS gauge for Two Bridges and saw it went up a bit with the storms.

Nice solid pike and a great catfish !! I have never tried bottom fishing in the river, but after seeing that, I might have to give it a try. There are a few deep spots where I fish that should hold a few.

Thanx!! The first 2 spots actually seemed lower than I've seen them in a while.

The last spot was over the banks and had some decent current. Had to throw on some extra weight to hold bottom. I think it may have to do with nearby bridge construction.

Dan, def give it a try. You won't get the same heart attack strikes like pike, but for a fish of the same size like these 2 were, the cats pull harder and fight longer. Just a matter of weeding through all the dink bullheads to find some good channels can be annoying......

Nice fish G. I guess you guys didnt get rain up there like we did, the rivers here are wrecked from the rain.

Nice mixed back bro, fish look healthy and some good size to them. Way to beat the banks up and put a nice catch together

Yeah, it POURED for 10/15 mins night before last. I was expecting worse conditions but the runoff must have passed through quickly.

Thanx Jimmy. I left muddy as Hell and riddled with bug bites but its still better than the SKUNK, lol.............
