I tried a pond that I had known about for a while but never got around to trying. Glad I finally did, because the place is loaded with pickerel. It's a small park pond, completely weeded over except for from the shoreline to about 10 feet out, all around the pond. Bringing a buzzbait or weedless frog along the outer weed edge yielded some devastating strikes. Even for pickerel, these fish were abnormally aggressive, streaking out of the weeds like they were shot from a bow, and exploding on the bait. In fact, they hit so hard that I wound up missing a lot because they shocked the hell out of me! I managed to land three, and dropped about five or six. All fish were pretty healthy looking. There were frogs everywhere, and I assume that they are the main forage base in the pond (hence why the weedless frog was such an effective bait). Biggest fish went about 17-18 inches and fought like a truck.
