Well after the horrible dry stretch through the Pike-a-Thon and the weeks after, the fishing has definitely picked back up. Been fishing a few spots up and down the river with great results on lures and bigger bait. They haven't been picky, as we landed them on 5 very different lures last night. No beasts yet, but hard fighting fish up to 33". LOTS of hungry fish to feed though with around 50 fish landed in the 3 days we've fished this week. Some LMB's and SMB's mixed in with the rare and elusive P-River Walleye showing his marble-eyed face again. Fish was very healthy looking, smiled for a few pictures, then back to the depths to get bigger and hopefully make some babies. Water temps are into the high 70's now and water level is still up from the usual summer levels.

.

That's awesome.
Didn't know they even had Walleye in the Passaic.

I don't see any walleye stocked in the Passaic in the NJDEP's stocking summary:

No state stocking and they are not naturally occuring in NJ, so the ones that are in there have either been illegally stocked or on a journey from Monksville Reservoir (closest place that gets them). I got one back in March: http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56911.

Another walleye from the Passaic! Where are you finding these things lol. Pike action is picking back up for sure and I lost what would've been easily my PB. Fish was on for about 10 seconds before making a drag ripping run and came unbuttoned. Fish was in the 40" to 45" class. Cool rig by the way on the walleye I've never seen that before.

This river is full of surprises lol. The 'eyes seem to come from the rockier areas near current lines.
