Penn Battle 2K or 3K. Cannot beat the bang for the buck. Great drag.

x2 on battle. have the 4000 with 20lb braid for casting bucktails in shallow water and for fall bass too.

x3 on the Penn Battle for the money. I prefer the 4000 for bucktailing if you are going to go into the 2-4 oz range. I have mine loaded with 20 lb braid and it serves as a mahi reel for pot hopping as well.

Daiwa BG 13 or 15. Tough as nails and should be @$100-110.

X4 on the Penn Battle. I have a couple of 3000 on medium action Tsunami rods that work the jigs perfectly when there is no current/drift. Not a bad reel for under $100.
I 4th the battle. I have a couple and they are working great for the bucktailing.

Penn Battle 4000 - just pickedd mine up and used it today on a party boat - Angler - they also have 1000,2000 and 3000's depending on the size you are looking for - great drag and handled a really big skate with no problems

Stradic FJ 3000, look around you'll find it for about 130.
Normally I pay little attention to feature lists...but the FJ's "x-ship" really makes this reel a winch, by far the easiest spinning reel I've used to crank in fish and 3 oz jigs all day in fairly deep water.

Penn Battle , Cabo 30, would be my choice in that price range. But, if you want to go cheaper, look at the Okuma Trio for @ $80 - $95. Its high speed, has a ton of drag and the spool is good for distance. The Okuma would be nice for jigs with over 30" on the retrieve. You dont need a ton of capacity, and if using braid, this reel is more than enough.

I have a CABO and a BOCA , both are quality, BOCA is a little less in $$. Find it to be light enough in weight and strong enough for the fish....

The Shimano reel to get at that price point is the Saros 4000. The Penn Battle is nice but if weight isn't an issue the Spinfisher V3500 could be considered.
