Well we know how I fell about the effects of the moon on fishing but I gave it hell this weekend anyway. Fished my local lake Friday night and ended up with two largemouth and a pic. Worked hard for the fish but two nice keepers. Saturday no fishing, replaced the transom on my buddies boat and closed the beer garden at the local carnival as the paint dried. Got a late start on sunday due to the previous statement but anyway got on the water about eleven and fished till one catching the same as Friday night two and one. Decided to try the evening bite with the potential thunderstorm coming. Got on the water and not long after here came the rain. Soaking wet I kept at it nothing, nothing, nothing, finally one after fishing three quarters of the lake moved a around a bit more till hooked up with a nice bass now starting to get a little momentum going continued down the shoreline and caught two more, now looking for the limit but didn't catch number five. Had to work very hard to put together a decent catch, many, many casts between bites but managed a couple decent ones. All fish caught on black/gold willow spinnerbait except one taken on a havoc pit boss during the day time. All the fish were released after pics taken unfortunetly had one bleeder but seemed to swim away strong so hope it makes it. Posted a couple pics below.

Nice fish buddy, you always feel better about the ones you work hard for. Not much of a moon guy neither, but that was one hell of a moon. Wilson and I did well by it.

.

Nice bass.

I was fishing Sunday afternoon and really didn't notice a difference in the fishing with the 'super moon'. I don't have enough time to chase, lunar cycles anyway. The best time to fish is whenever I get a few hours free to get out on the water.

It's a shame about the "bleeder". Few things distress a bass fisherman worse than being unsure whether a bass they release will survive their capture.

Yea I felt pretty bad, I always try to handle and release my fish with as much care as possible but once in a while it does happen. Was actually quite surprised cause it was a mouth hook in the upper lip so not sure what that was about. Hate to see any fish go belly up but she swam away pretty good so I think it will be okay. I really didn't even notice any type of super moon either didn't seem different than any other and had quite a bit of cloud cover so maybe that helped boost my catch thankfully!
