I just got done fishing there today. I went to North boat launch and it was closed with a bunch of cones? so i headed to south launch......put the boat in at about 6, and around 7 i was seeing news helicopters circle the area of the north launch.
It looks like they pulled the car out literaly right in front of North boat ramp area. Like she just drove in the water from the ramp.

Didnt catch anyting btw, SHOCKER.

Crazy pucture from this link http://www.northjersey.com/news/Decomposed_womans_body_found_in_car_in_West_Milfor ds_Monksville_Reservoir.html

that is some crazy shit and to think I was there with my wife about a few months ago just floating over this thing.. Wow...

Im also wondering how the car got out far enough from the launch to sink in the 16ft of water... that launch doesnt automatically drop off steep like the sides around the res so it had to have been dragged out while sinking.....

I bet with a rolling start down the boat ramp a car could pretty easily float out to the channel before sinking.

Probably there since 2008, huh? Nice big easy to mark on the fish finder structure? I wonder how many times I have fished that car

I'm surprised that when it first happened the was no fuel and oil spill on the water.

That's a really good point... and what about fish finders? Think it just picked up like the bottom would? That must have shown pretty bright on the new dsi and hd imaging... I'm sure that spot has been scanned a few times...

Clearly I read this thread UP and did not see this until after my last post. ;)

Wow! I drove past there on my way to Greenwood and noticed the orange cones too. There
were still plenty of small boats/kayaks fishing over by the tree stumps.

On my way back from Greenwood just after 9 PM I saw all of these headlights
around the North launch and thought, WTF is going on over there?

BTW, fishing at Greenwood was lame. Just too many jet skis and boats
the water just too weedy. Managed a couple of pan sized bluegills
on an F-3 just to get rid o' de skunk. Will launch from the North side next time.

Still wonder how that car went unnoticed for so long. Must have been some lures
found hanging on the car.
