Finally got a chance to fish! Working 7 days a week has made it difficult to find the time to get out and break the bass cherry for the year.

Threw an F-3 Rapala to start ending up fowl hooking a small crappie. Little guy tried to crush it and ended up with a hook in the back. Switched to small spinner to try and pick at the sunnys and crappie with no luck. Finally got some luck with a 6" pumpkinseed ribbontail worm and 4" morning dawn finese worm(zoom). 2 Nice bass didn't measure but they were both nice, fat, and to my buddies disapointment released to fight another day.

Sidenote: HOLY CARP!!!!! Jumping swirling cruising everywhere you looked. I don't know why I don't target these beasts they have to put up a good fight.

Then you're buddy is a budding poacher because bass can not be harvested until June 15.

This law is in effect to give them a better chance to successfully nest.

After the eggs hatch, the male will stand guard for a few days to a week to keep the sunfish from devouring all the fry.

He doesn't really fish often just came along. I explained that as well as why I c&r in freshwater. He's only been on bluefish slaughters with me in the past.
