Looks like it was at a smaller pond at Spruce Run, not the reservoir itself. Not too much info out there yet. Horrible situation regardless...

That really is sad....Not knowing the cause yet I may be jumping the gun a little but.....that is why I think you just have to wear a PFD all the time if you are out there alone. I'll bet anyone on here that has a foot pedal trolling motor has accidentally stepped on that thing while facing the wrong way on the bow of the boat. I've almost gone in more times that I would like to admit. Something stupid like that happens when you're by yourself and it can turn bad real quick.
Prayers to the family of that poor guy.

I've hiked back to that pond a few times. Its fairly shallow except for the section near a berm/dam(you can see it in the capture. South side of pond.) Water drops off to over ten feet or so. Lots of big carp in there with a few bass and sunnies. Gets real weedy in summer. I admire his effort to fish a place off the beaten path. I always liked it there rather than the SR itself.
