I found this on the NJ Department of Wildlife website. Has anyone caught any bass in here? If so, where?

i just caught a couple dinks in there yesterday. the recreation lake water is a good 15+ degrees warmer than the reservoir right now... reservoir was almost too cold for shorts under breathable waders, but the rec lake was nice and comfy

Shiners... right off the rocks...
Do you mean right where the part that separates the lake from the reservoir? That rock pathway? Also how should I go about putting a shiner on? I've always heard of different ways, but I'm never sure on the exact place to put it, on the tail, in front of the dorsal fin, behind the dorsal fin, out and under through the lips...
Also what size hook would work? I use size 8s or 12s... I forgot which. Would this be fine for bass?
How would I rig the shiner? I've never really fished with them before... A weight? A bobber? And how would it feel if I get a bite? Just like a normal fish bite?

yea, that rock path. Large shiners... hook size and how you fish is a preference. Bobbers work... I like the least resistance possible whenever I fish so I wouldnt ever really use a sinker when fishing with shiners.
How will it feel when you get a bite? lol... You'll know... Especially if she's done spawning and on the feedbag!!! Haha... Just make sure your drag is set. Adrenaline pumping watching a bobber over a nervous ass shiner getting frantic about imminent death prior to being inhaled by a bucketmouth!

By the way... where is a good place to get minnows around Bridgewater/Round Valley? I used to go to Lebanon Bait & Tackle, but they shut down due to Hurricane Sandy. What is another place that sells minnows?
