I have OMT making up some special jigs for us. We sell a good amount of large bucktails to the south, for trolling and jigging off the riggers. They like them up to 24ozs.

What is the size for up here?? How heavy do you guys go?
The pics below are with a cell phone, so the quality is bad and does nothing for the jig.

The jigs will have VMC Swing Hooks, not the fixed hook shown. Color will be rainbow heads, with a rainbow skirt over top of yellow hair. Its all about the rainbow!

Look at the pic of the jig blowing up with that nuclear glow my man uses!!! :D

Very interesting looking jig. I like it:D if I were to troll that for bass it would need to be at least 8oz..

Tom --Suggestion--i don't produce these for what your doing so no skin in the game but i have done this kinda jig before. And after some development
i decided to drill the eye loop at the foward part of the jig, better pull and profile going thru water on the troll. I'm sure the guys at OMT can adapt the mold or get Shawn to custom cut one.
I set mine up for a number 3 xxlong stainless eye and attached it to a gammi big river 12/0 hook
absolute killer.Expensive but killer.
Just sent some to Capt john in North carolina on the Procastinator
Thoughts

Not a bad idea at all. I dont see too many local guys using them offshore here in Jersey, but to the south, they use a lot of them. They troll and jig them, yet we dont look twice at them up here. ( funny how geographic fishing goes)
My theory is : if they work down there, they should work up here.

I like the idea you came up with, it sounds like it would work well.
