Hi there, all.
I've been doing my very best pike impression on this board since last season - meaning, I've been lurking in the shadows and gobbling up every tasty nugget of information that has floated by.
I originally started visiting while I was doing some research on places to take my 4-year old for his first try at fishing. I've lived in NJ since I was in my teens but believe it or not, had never freshwater fished in NJ. Only real FW fishing I had really ever done was up in New Hampshire for brookies back when I was in my teens.
Anyway, since finding this board, I've taken my son out for a bunch of really cherished moments on the water together that started with him landing a fish on his first cast and continued right through him telling me last week that he thinks we should try to catch 100 fish this year.
It's been a great activity for the two of us - and I've squeezed in time on the banks somewhere in just about every other free minute. Those solo outings have been a bit more of an adventure since I had never fished freshwater for anything other than brookies using worms.
I'll save those stories for other posts but in the meantime, I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have so generously shared tips and experiences with those of who are far less in the know... I promise to earn my keep by paying in some of my own reports this year.
Here's to a great year of GoodFishin.
