non-ethanol gas stations?

does anybody know of any stations in the morris/sussex area (lk. hopatcong area) that has a pump with non ethanol fuel? Im gonna put my big boat on the lake this week and all the fuel avail on LH is ethanol enriched. I know u can buy VP in 5 gal cans but its like 75 bucks and very high octane. Thanks for any help guys....

I just got my first big boat this year and looked high and low for non-ethanol fuel and found the same thing as you....NADA... Even the marinas on Hopatcong I talked to say their fuel is ethanol enriched and some add Startron to their tanks to deal with it. I've accepted that I have to use commonly available gas station 93 octane with a good dose of Startron.

Walmart sells the marine ethanol treatment....its the ONLY solution i know of...good luck

it's really no big deal if you have replaced your fuel lines in the past ten years and drain or run dry your carbs at the end of the season.

Its actually more than just the fuel lines, its every part of the fuel system that gets eaten up. I have DFI so no carbs but it still causes lots of problems. This boat is out of state and has never seen ethanol fuel, I really wanted to avoid it as I have a transfer tank. All the ethanol treatments prevent the gumming of the fuel with storage, but doesnt stop the stripping power of the alcohol. Plan B I guess.......thanks fellas

The problem with Ethanol comes into play when the fuel has been laying around a while in the tank in a vented system like a boat.... The Alcohol wicks up moisture from the air and if left long enough and untreated you have water in your tanks.

Take it from me... We just got our new to us boat. It had 2 Auxiliary saddle tanks that the previous owners did not use much. We topped off the saddles and began to run the boat off them to drain them down and the port motor died.

Went back to the marina and had to pump out almost 2 gallons of water and muck from phase separation which is caused by Ethanol.

Does the same thing happen with diesel? Separation, sludge ect.
