Floated the raritan yesterday with Gatto and another one of my buddies from Nevius to manville. Gatto got a nice LMB shortly after we launched. The river was full of life yesterday, saw carp and big schools of baitfish all over the place. Halfway through the trip my buddy hooked a solid 3lb smallie who put up an awesome fight on light tackle. She finally spit the hook boatside after a 3min fight in the current so no pic but we were happy to at least get a good look at her. Shortly after that we spooked 2 or 3 real nice smallies off of beds when we floated over them. I had a nice smallie follow my bait back to the boat in the same area but no take. Further downstream we spotted a big LM hanging on a tree in the water, but she wouldnt touch anything. Overall it was a nice float through some beautiful looking water. The lower Raritan seems to be doing real well these days.
